UNIRAZAK

Universiti Tun Abdul Razak (UNIRAZAK) was established on 18 December 1997 and is one of the first private universities in Malaysia. School Of Education And Humanities (SEH)

SEH is committed in providing a coherent, developmental-based teacher education programmes that prepare potential students to establish and work within the teaching and learning communities which helps to maximize their own potentials and the potentials of their future students.

The programmes offered by SEH promote collaborative learning and critical reflection as a way to develop a community of life-long learners who can respect diverse perspectives, make informed decisions, and be responsive to the changing needs of individuals in our society. All of our programmes are designed based on the philosophy that knowledge is power and every child deserves to be taught ethically by quality professionals and teachers who believe that all children are capable of learning. Thus, the goal of the school is to ensure graduates acquire professional knowledge, develop professional skills, and exhibit dispositions that they will need in order to be effective teachers as well as contributing members of the society.

SEH offers pertinent programmes in education and language studies that prepare its graduates to accept, honour and enhance the diversity of learners and discover their teacher persona through reflection and progressive field experiences. The programmes offered are Diploma in Early Childhood Education, Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood Education) (Honours), Bachelor of Education (Honours), Bachelor of English (Honours), Master of Education (TESL), Master in Early Childhood Education and Doctor of Philosophy in Education.

Master In Early Childhood Education

The Master in Early Childhood Education programme aims at equipping students with knowledge and practical skills in early childhood education as well as inculcating the right attitude, ethics, sense of professionalism and leadership skills for our students to become well-trained and knowledgeable educators. The programme is designed to provide students with an industry-relevant curriculum which addresses both theoretical study and current practices in early childhood education to produce graduates with critical thinking and problem solving skills so they can contribute to nation-building and adapt to market needs in the context of early childhood education needs. The Master of Early Childhood Education is tailored to allow the graduates to embark upon teaching, training, managing and providing consultation in the field of early childhood education. Equipped with holistic and integrated knowledge, the graduates will be able to work as childcare providers, trainers in early childhood education, trainers and consultants in early childhood education, academicians, researchers, decision makers, entrepreneurs as well as practical and theoretical thinkers in early childhood education and beyond.

UNIRAZAK Master Units

Master in Early Childhood Education requires a total of 40 credits to complete in three years.

  • Managerial Leadership OR Entrepreneurship Trend and Issues in Early Childhood Education OR Early
  • Childhood Intervention and Program Development
Research Project:
  • Project Paper

Academic

  • A Bachelor's Degree in ECE with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 or its equivalent; OR
  • A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 or its equivalent, as accepted by the Senate AND 3 years working experience in early childhood fields; OR
  • A Bachelor's Degree with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 or its equivalent, as accepted by the Senate AND a Diploma in ECE/ 4 years working experience in early childhood fields; OR
  • A Bachelor's Degree not meeting CGPA of 2.50 or its equivalent, as accepted by the Senate can be accepted subject to a minimum of 5 years working experience in early childhood fields and rigorous internal assessment.
  • For International students, Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of 600 OR International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 6.0 OR a minimum score of 169 in Linguaskill Cambridge English Qualifications and Tests OR its equivalent.

  • Note: The validity period for IELTS and TOEFL is two years from the date awarded.

    APEL A - (Accreditation Of Prior Experiential Learning).

    • APEL admission requirement for Master Programme: Minimum 30 years of age with STPM/Diploma/A-Level/ equivalent and relevant work experience.
